Our First Ever TWL Photoshoot: Two Hours of Chaos, Learning, and Memories

Before the polished product photos, studio setups, and content that you see today, there was our very first TWL photoshoot.

Looking back, it was one of the most memorable experiences we have had as a brand.

We booked a small studio online in the Bishan area, around the Penjuru/Penimpin industrial area, and planned a quick two-hour photoshoot session. At the time, we were excited but also completely inexperienced. None of us had organised a proper studio photoshoot before, and we honestly had no idea what we were doing.

When we arrived, we were greeted by professional lighting equipment, backdrops, stands, and cameras. There was only one problem.

We didn't even know how to turn on the studio lights.

What seemed simple suddenly became confusing. We spent time figuring out the equipment, adjusting the setup, and learning everything through trial and error. Every minute felt precious because we only had the studio for two hours.

Despite the challenges, we pushed on.

Boxes of samples, clothing pieces, hangers, accessories, and equipment were carried up and down throughout the session. Everyone was constantly moving, changing outfits, preparing products, arranging shots, and trying to make the most of the limited time we had.

The two hours flew by.

What felt like a full day of work was squeezed into a short photoshoot session. By the end of it, everyone was exhausted. Our legs were tired, our arms were sore from carrying boxes, and our minds were overloaded from trying to learn everything at once.

But it was also incredibly rewarding.

That photoshoot taught us that building a brand involves much more than simply creating products. There are countless skills to learn behind the scenes, from photography and lighting to styling, planning, and content creation.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Grace and Xander for helping us during the shoot. Without their support, patience, and willingness to figure things out together, the day would have been much more difficult.

Looking at those photos today, we don't just see product images.

We see the hard work, uncertainty, and excitement that came with taking one of our first big steps as a growing brand.

Every business has a beginning, and for TWL, our first studio photoshoot will always be one of those moments we will never forget.

Here's to many more photoshoots, better content, and continuing to learn along the way.
