How to Build a Brand from Livestreaming: From Home-Based Live Streams to Building Our Own Brand

Looking back today, it is hard to believe how far TWL has come. Like many small businesses, we did not start with a warehouse, office, or large team. We started with a simple goal: to sell products online and connect with people through live streaming.

Towards the end of 2024, we began our journey by going live on TikTok and Shopee. Back then, we were still figuring things out. We sold a wide range of fashion products, including striped t-shirts, bermudas, and various clothing items. We were constantly experimenting to understand what our customers liked and what direction we wanted the brand to take. This hands-on approach helped shape our marketing strategy around live streams and customer engagement.

TWL early home-based live streaming setup

The early days were far from glamorous. Orders were packed from home, inventory was stored wherever we could find space, and every live stream felt like a learning experience. There were days when sales were slow and days when only a few people joined our livestreams.

However, every sale meant something to us.

We still remember the excitement whenever we received an order notification. Even when we made just $50 in sales, we were genuinely happy. To some people, it might not seem like much, but to us, it was proof that someone trusted our personal brand enough to spend their hard-earned money with us.

Motivation from early livestream sales

That motivation kept us going.

Stay Consistent with Live Streaming to Grow Your Brand

As the months passed, we continued live streaming consistently on TikTok and Shopee, learning from our mistakes and improving our products. Staying consistent was crucial to building an engaged community and establishing trust through our streaming platforms. We gradually realised that oversized t-shirts were what our customers loved most. The comfort, versatility, and timeless streetwear appeal made them stand out from everything else we sold.

Instead of trying to sell every type of fashion item, we decided to focus on what we believed in most: premium oversized streetwear made from 100 percent premium 300gsm cotton, designed with breathable and durable fabric that suits everyday wear.

In March 2025, we achieved an important milestone when we moved into our first office. While it was a modest space, it represented something much bigger. It was a sign that all the live streams, late nights, packing orders, and small wins were slowly adding up.

Today, TWL is focused on creating premium oversized t-shirts and streetwear essentials designed for comfort, quality, and everyday wear. While our products and operations have evolved, the feeling we get from every order remains the same.

Whether it is a $50 sales day or a record-breaking day, we are still grateful for every customer who supports our journey. Our marketing strategy now centres around using live streaming platforms effectively to maintain direct connections with our loyal community.

This is only the beginning, and we look forward to continuing to grow together with our community by leveraging live streams and streaming platforms that best fit our personal brand’s vision.

Thank you for being part of the TWL story.
